No Darkness!

I have my own hammock! If I get cool at night I use a blanket or sleep with the cat, Qiviut.

This is a picture at 10 PM (nightime!!).

I use sleeping shades. Some people cover their windows with foil or cardboard or buy special shades. Others get used to it. Most people use the late days to fix their houses. When the river is completely clear of ice and driftwood, people go fishing, too.

Wow, can you imagine no darkness at night time!

Write a comment to tell me why you think it doesn’t get dark and how would you manage to get to sleep?

Do you know another name for Alaska that means there is not many hours of darkness in summer?

Can you design some shades to help you sleep?

What other situations might cause it to be light when you need to sleep?

Oh,lucky YOU,I-qaud!!! you have your own hammock…but wouldn’t you get cold under just one little blanket,or would you get crushed under the cat(unless you only slept under his tail)!!!
……I-Quad Replies….Well yes Ethan, the hammock is really comfortable, I must tell them about it back on my planet! The cat and I snuggle up together, all curled up, it’s quite comfy!!

Close the curtains so it would be easier to get to sleep.

If I had ice in my back yard I would buy a scooter and drive it around on ice all day. It would be a lot of fun instead of just getting a scooter and riding a scooter on cement. It would be fun to run and then slip over. That is why I would like to have ice in my back yard.

    Hi i-quad
Wow! Long time no chat. How have you been? I hope you have had fun every where you’ve been. Lots of people have been looking at your blog. They think it’s amazing. Have you ever gone fishing with your friend? This is my comment on Darkness in Alaska.
It would be very hard at night time if you didn’t have a clock because if you had to go out for tea you could go at 2:00pm when it is at 9:30pm and you could get really confused.
I think that it would be hard to sleep at night because it would be dark and you are near the window in your hammock. But I think that if I came to Alaska it would be really hard because I am use to it being dark at night. But I think I would manage by putting shades over my eyes or pulling the blinds down or pulling the curtains over the window. I also think that it is a great idea to sleep with shades over your eyes but wouldn’t it tickle you when there over your ears. Aren’t you cold at night with just a thin blanket and won’t you get squished under Qiviut. I hope you get skates that fit you. We all miss you here in Horsham.
    See you soon From Tamika
Greetings Tamika, how wonderful to hear from an old friend, I miss Horsham already. I do love ALaska though it is so amazingly different. That would be really funny if people got the time mixed up, I guess it’s really important to make sure all your clocks and watches work well! Hey those aren’t my ears silly, they’re my eyes!
Great talking to you and keep up the good work,
    your Intergalactic pal,
    I-Quad.
